06/22/03 Ok, so I got my mouse working again and quit drawing for 3 weeks^_^; Well I did finally do another oekaki (check the Images page if you're wondering where I got the idea), and it was fun so I'll probably do another soon. But I have made quite a lot of progress on the demo I'm making for the GBADev competition, and quite a bit of RPG too, which I'll also enter in the compo, since you can enter a game, a demo, or both^^ I spent all day yesterday sifting bugs out of my sound mixer though, but it still doesn't work. To this day, I have yet to code a sound mixer that doesn't either make little click sounds every second or so, or occasionally lock up for no appearent reason. I have the inner loop down to a fine art, it's just the preparations that I have trouble with. 06/04/03 New oekaki, which I'll most likely do a mini-manga to show the whole story of^^ Aside from that, I have yet another cold. Seems like this makes about 5 or 6 viruses this year, and it's not even half over yet X_X Oh well, I opened up a can of whup-ass on it and pretty much killed it in 2 days. Now all I have to do is blow my nose every few minutes until all the remains are cleaned up. In programming news, my mouse still doesn't work, so not much progress. I'm pretty sure the serial port is dead, so I ordered a new one, which should be here any day. 05/29/03 Productive month^^ Actually more of just this week, since my programming computer's been out of commission. The new processor got here the day before yesterday though (right after I made that update), and it's up and running now (found the problem on the first try. Damn, I'm good^_^), except the mouse doesn't work. It's always had that problem though, so hopefully it'll come around soon. But anyway, the update. A high-speed, slightly messy oekaki. I'm starting to wonder if I should make seprate sections for oekaki and non-oekaki pictures. Seems like my best stuff lately is done in oekaki, but I can see myself doing mass quantities of doodling in the near future, so maybe I'll just make a non medium-specific doodle page. But I like having everything in one place, so I'm not sure what I'll do. Maybe I'll just put all that doodle energy into a mini-manga^^ 05/27/03 Golden Sun oekaki^^ And extra fun to draw too, since I didn't go crazy and work on it all day like I usually do. And between to the recent weekend/holiday preventing the arrival of my new processor, and this computer's disfunctional floppy drive, I still have no way to access my RPG files. I have a bunch of new tiles though, so it's not to bad. And I desprately need to make baddies and character battle sprites, so I think that'll be my project for today. 05/23/03 Finally a Photoshop picture instead of my recent strictly-oekaki drawing. However, there is still an oekaki too^_^ Unfortunately my programming computer has semi-died (caused errors constantly, so I tried to reinstall Windows, and now the installer causes errors...), so I haven't been able to work on the RPG much for the past week or so, but I think the problem is the cheap processor that's in it, so I bought a new Pentium 233 for it on EBay for $5.50^^ I think that as fast as the motherboard in it can handle, and it's an AT board, which means it's in an AT case, and all the P2/P3 MBs are ATX, so I'd have to buy a new case too if I wanted to make it any faster, and since I don't really need it any faster, I figured I'd just get an old CPU, since they're practically free. Hopefully it will be here in not too long so I can get back to work. I can still make tiles on this computer and design maps on paper (which actually seems to work better anyway) though, so I'm not totally disabled^^ 05/06/03 It's been longer than it seems since I last updated. Well I have 2 new oekakis this time. A semi-quickie and a deluxe model^^ In other news, there was a very tornadic storm the day before yesterday, which went north of here, but my mom, brother and self went out to chase it. Saw a few places where funnel clouds were trying to form, but no real tornadoes. When we got home we found out that there was one right where we were sitting, appearently a few minutes before we got there or we would have seen it. One of these days I'll see one for real, though hopefully from a safer distance than where we were this time^^; 04/16/03 New oekaki^^ I tried drawing this is Photoshop at first, but as usual it just didn't have a good feel to it, so I never finished the outlines. Then I did it as an oekaki and everything was fine. I think either I have to be forced to finish without much rest so I can't spend too long on one little thing, or drawing in a group is just more fun. 04/03/03 As usual, another oekaki, but I think I need to start drawing in Photoshop again so I can get this kind of quality without killing myself. But it's just so hard to keep working on a picture when you're not forced to sacrifice yourself to finish it as fast as possible so your brother and sister can have a turn with the computer^^; And I think I need to draw in oekaki resolution too. Well, I have another picture in mind, so we'll see how it goes. 03/29/03 Yet another new oekaki^^ Nothing too special about it, just doodling out of boredom. 03/20/03 2 new oekakis^_^ Delta and a temple, Delta in a forest. I've become an oekaki addict^^; Which is a good thing cause it's starting to revive my old drawing abilities again 03/05/03 Another new oekaki^^ And a very high quality one at that. Also, it's my dad's birtday today, so happy B, dad^_^ 01/27/03 New oekaki done at the Art Corner doodle board. I'm in the mood to do more too, so if you pray hard enough, maybe I'll come up with something in the next day or 2^^ 01/12/03 New acrylic painting uploaded, which is my first completed picture in months. Feels good to be back^^ 01/05/03 Months after my web site was deleted or something, I have revived it^^ And with a new, less pretty, but easier to deal with design. Soon this page will be filled with updates, rather than just a small block of text with a menu off to the side. But until then, go look at the other sections, which are much more interesting.
